What We Provide

Insurance Law
Insurance Coverage & Claims Counsel
We represent policyholders and insurance companies in coverage disputes, claim investigations, and litigation. On either side of the case, the goal is the same: apply the policy as written, follow the governing law, and reach a fair, defensible outcome.
When you buy an insurance policy and faithfully pay premiums for protection from hail and windstorms, pipe bursts, fire, auto accidents, hurricanes, and other losses, you should receive a prompt, good-faith evaluation consistent with the policy and applicable law. At the same time, insurance companies are entitled to have claims evaluated accurately, with proper documentation, and without improper inflation or misrepresentation.
Insurance law is state-dependent. For example, Colorado imposes specific obligations on insurers regarding claim handling and timeliness, and policyholders may have remedies where a carrier unreasonably delays or denies benefits. Florida law also provides significant remedies in certain coverage disputes and statutory contexts. Whether we are advocating for benefits owed under a policy or defending a carrier’s claim decision, we focus on clear strategy, clean documentation, and results.
We have handled matters involving many major carriers and insurance providers, including:
-
Underwriters at Lloyd’s of London
-
Allstate
-
Nationwide
-
USAA
-
American Family
-
Liberty Mutual
-

Contracts, Business & Corporate Law
J.W.M. Law Group advises clients on contract matters from start to finish: drafting, negotiating, enforcing, and litigating agreements.
We handle disputes involving written and oral agreements between individuals and businesses. When a party fails to meet its obligations, that is often a breach of contract, and the law may allow you to pursue enforcement and damages in court (or through arbitration, if required). Contract law governs how agreements are formed, how promises must be performed, and what remedies are available when a deal goes sideways.
We also help clients structure, form, and dissolve businesses, and we litigate disputes involving fraud, theft, and unfair business conduct, including issues tied to nondisclosure agreements, non-disparagement clauses, and defamation-related claims.
Examples of contract and business matters we handle include:
-
Deal documents: term sheets, LOIs, definitive agreements; asset/stock/membership interest purchases and sales
-
Business “owner documents”: shareholder agreements, operating agreements, bylaws/partnership agreements; buy-sell terms, redemptions, exits
-
Governance & ownership disputes: voting/control issues, member/shareholder disputes, business divorce, enforcement of owner rights
-
Commercial agreements: vendor/supplier, distribution, sales contracts, purchase orders, service agreements, warranties
-
Construction & property-related contracts: construction contracts, public adjuster agreements, appraisal/arbitration provisions, insurance proceeds/policy-related disputes
-
Confidentiality & competition: NDAs, non-competes/non-solicits, non-disparagement
-
Media & talent: media rights, athlete/artist performance agreements (including fight contracts)
-
Online terms: privacy policies, website terms of use
And more.
